Dr. James Bell, St. Luke’s Hospital

Jane Dohrmann, MSW, LISW, ACHP-SW, is the Program Director of Palliative Care Services, which includes the Supportive Care and Honoring Your Wishes programs.  She has worked at Iowa City Hospice since 2003.  Jane was recognized as a ChangeAGEnt through the John A. Hartford Foundation for her collaborative work with IPOST implementation in local nursing homes. She is a state representative to the national POLST organization and serves on the NHPCO Palliative Care Council. She is married and has one adult daughter.

Dr. James Bell is the Medical Director for Palliative Care at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids. He completed medical school at the University of Iowa in 1983 and Family Medicine residency in Cedar Rapids in 1986. He is board certified in Hospice and Palliative Medicine as well as Family Medicine.  He practiced family medicine in a small group in Marion from 1986 until 2008, during which time he served as Hospice Medical Director and assisted with formation of the Palliative Care program at St. Luke’s and since 2008 he has served full time in that role.  He enjoys jogging, fishing, jazz piano and being a grandfather.
