Encore Café Update - August 2021

Though in-person dining isn’t back quite yet, Encore Café is resuming service in a familiar, easy-to-use way: the same voucher system used over the last several months picks up again this week.

This time, adults ages 60+ are eligible to receive 12 vouchers, valid through Oct. 31, 2021, via mail. There are no pick-up events scheduled at this time. To receive vouchers, participants must:

  • Submit a FY2022 Consumer Intake Form to Heritage AAA. This form is being mailed to past participants, while new diners can call 319-398-2585 to request one.

  • After sending in the form, call the Encore reservation line at 319-398-2585. Please wait a few days before calling in to allow for mail delivery.

  • Receive the vouchers from Heritage via mail. Vouchers will be sent within 5-7 business days.

Vouchers are redeemable at the Johnson Ave Hy-Vee Drugstore (Mealtime To-Go meals) or the Marion Hy-Vee store (Mealtime To-Go meals or hot meals as available).

The reopening for in-person dining at St. Mark’s UMC and Lowe Park is tentatively set for October 2021, while the Marion Library is targeting spring 2022. The timelines may be adjusted based on construction progress at the Marion Hy-Vee and the new Marion Library, respectively.

Thank you to our long-time and newer participants for the support and flexibility you’ve shown over the past year and a half. With the help of the Marion Hy-Vee and our other great partners, Encore Café remains committed to helping older adults find reliable, tasty meals locally.
