Caregiver 101: Elderly Waiver
Caregiver 101 teaches the basics that every caregiver for older adults should know. This session will cover the Medicaid Elderly Waiver program with an expert guest speaker from the Iowa Dept. of Health and Human Services.
The Elderly Waiver empowers qualifying older adults to stay in their own home while receiving the long-term health care services they need. We’ll cover the Elderly Waiver application process, program requirements, levels of care provided and more.
Attend at one of the viewing sites around our region or via Zoom. Heritage AAA staff will be available for individual consultations at the viewing sites.

About The Speaker
Christy Casey is the Long Term Services & Supports (LTSS) Policy Program Manager at the Iowa Department of Health & Human Services (HHS). She is an expert on the Elderly Waiver. She was a Case Manager for 17 years before coming to work for HHS in June of 2022. She lives in Atlantic, Iowa, and has a son, who is a senior in high school, so all of her free time is spent watching, football, wrestling, band, show choir, and now tennis!
