What would you do with $5,800? Probably not give it away to a scammer, right?

Last year more than 700,000 reports were made of Social Security telephone scams with the average victim losing $5,800 – nearly $45 million in total.

Heritage AAA is joining the Social Security Administration (SSA) in promoting “Slam the Scam” day on March 4, part of National Consumer Protection Week. While law enforcement works on tracking down scammers, we’re doing our part in making sure you know how to spot a scam from a mile away.

Take a look at the information and resources below and help spread the word: just hang up!
