Encore Café Winter Weather Policy

The safety and well-being of everyone involved with Encore Café is our top priority (monthly birthday cake is a close second). As winter settles in, let's review the Encore Café Weather Closure Policy:

𝗟𝗼𝘄𝗲 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗸: If Linn-Mar Community School District is closed for the day, Encore Café will be closed. Late starts/early dismissals will not affect Encore Café service.

𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰 𝗟𝗶𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗿𝘆: If the Marion Public Library and/or Marion Schools are closed, Encore Café will be closed. Late starts/early dismissals will not affect Encore Café service.

𝗦𝘁. 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗸’𝘀 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗠𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗱𝗶𝘀𝘁 𝗖𝗵𝘂𝗿𝗰𝗵: If Cedar Rapids Community School District is closed, Encore Café will be closed. Late starts/early dismissals will not affect Encore Café service.

𝗔𝗹𝗹 𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀: If travel is not advised by local authorities, Encore Café will be closed.

Please note that diners will not be contacted individually in the event of a closure. Any time Encore Café closes due to weather, it will be announced in these three places:

• the closure announcements on KCRG

• a post on Heritage Area Agency on Aging’s Facebook page

• a recorded message on the Encore Café reservation line 319-398-2585
