Older Americans Month Johnson Co. Activities

The Heritage Area Agency on Aging is Chair of the Johnson County Livable Community's Policy Board. We proudly participate in this active community group to improve the lives of older adults, persons living with disabilities and caregivers within Johnson County. Below are activities the Johnson County Livable Community members have organized to celebrate Older American's Month during May. Help us celebrate Older American's Month and participate in one or more of these events! 

"Fill the Plate" News Coverage

Help Heritage “Fill the Plates” of older adults throughout eastern Iowa. Volunteers are desperately needed to assist in providing meals at dining sites and deliver meals and supplemental food to older adults in our area. Shifts and opportunities vary. The Heritage Agency on Aging Receives an Aging Achievement Award from the National Association of Area Agencies on Aging (n4a)

FOR RELEASE CONTACT: Tim Getty August 8, 2017 319-297-8817 (Cedar Rapids, Iowa) The Heritage Area Agency on Aging announces that the Senior Tote Program, a local collaborative effort between The Heritage Agency and HACAP Food Reservoir, received an Aging Achievement Award by the National Association of Area Agencies on Aging (n4a). The awards program is supported by WellCare.

Public Hearing on Fiscal Year 2018 Area Plan set for Dec. 15th

The Heritage Area Agency on Aging announces via public notice on this website of an Area Plan Public Hearing scheduled for December 15, 2016.
