The Heritage Area Agency on Aging offers new programs to Caregivers

The Heritage Area Agency on Aging is expanding Caregiver Support Services through educational sessions and telephone supports.

Are you a caregiver? Do you have questions about resources or just want someone to talk with who understands the challenges of caregiving? At The Heritage Area Agency on Aging, we understand the unique roles of caregivers.  We can help connect you with resources to assist and support you in your role as caregiver.   We are also there to listen and offer emotional support.

The Heritage Area Agency on Aging is expanding the types of Caregiver Support Services we offer.  We will be holding educational sessions on a monthly basis at the Cedar Rapids Library and in other areas of our seven county region throughout the year.  Please contact Heritage or reference our Facebook page for specific dates, times and locations.  These educational sessions are at no cost to participants.  Registration is appreciated, but not required.

Additionally, The Heritage Area Agency on Aging has begun a monthly Caregiver Support Conference Call.  This call will be held outside of regular business hours with the hope that it offers a more convenient time for accessing supports, particularly for working caregivers.  All caregivers are welcome to participate.  The Caregiver Support Conference Call will be held on the second Thursday of each month at 7:00 pm. This program is at no cost to participants, but registration is required.
