The Heritage Agency holds the Annual Meeting & Recognition Event

The Heritage Area Agency on Aging’s Advisory Council held its Annual Meeting and Volunteer Recognition Event at The Cedar Rapids Public Library in Cedar Rapids on May 22, 2014. This event provides updates from the agency and honors members of the community that are nominated for awards by their peers.

Outstanding Senior Volunteer award winners by county include:

  • Marilyn Sokol of Belle Plaine
  • Eunice Boedeker of Lowden
  • Ed & Lola Martin of North English
  • Rex Brandstatter of Coralville
  • Bridget Johnson of Anamosa
  • Judy Cowan of Cedar Rapids
  • Wendel Guy of Washington

State Representative Bobby Kaufmann received the award for Outstanding Public Official, O’Rourke Motors of Tipton won the Outstanding Initiatives in Aging award, the Advocate of the Year award went to Shirley Geadelmann of Clarence, Dave Wright Subaru of Cedar Rapids won the Outstanding Business and Aging Partnership and the Outstanding Senior Volunteer in Area four was awarded to Eunice Boedeker of Lowden.
