The Heritage Area Agency on Aging and Peer Action Disability Support (P.A.D.S.) invite you to participate in an interactive advocacy forum with senior and disability advocates and organizations from across East Central Iowa. The forum will be held on Thursday, October 10th from 10:00 am – noon at the Kirkwood Center (attached to the Kirkwood Hotel) 7725 Kirkwood Blvd SW in Cedar Rapids.
This free forum is open to home and community based services advocates and organizations who are working to support the independence and dignity of older adults and people with disabilities.

- Learn from Iowa based lobbyists what they expect for the upcoming election cycle and the 2014 legislative session, what strengths and weaknesses they see in advocacy efforts related to home and community based services in Iowa, and how best to develop relationships with elected officials and policy makers.
- Learn what legislative priorities are expected to be the focus for key advocacy organizations for the Iowa 2014 legislative session and the Iowa General Assembly as a whole.
- Share what you and the organizations you represent want for the future of home and community based services in Iowa.
- Discover what advocates are doing at a local level to elevate legislative and policy making priorities in our community and how you can get involved.
